Projects

A DESCRIPTION OF THE ACTIVITIES CARRIED OUT BY “ASHA” 

  1. ASHA organized Eye Health camps and distributed Vitamin-A capsules among rural children age between 0-6 years. For this purpose an International donor agency viz. TASK FORCE SIGHT AND LIFE, SWITZERLAND supplied 3500 vitamin-A capsules.
  2. Participated in the Pulse Polio Immunization Programme.
  3. Mobilized eligible couple for Family Planning operations.
  4. Distributed Free study material (Note Books, Pens, Pencils, and Slates) to 800 poor children in    10 villages of Renigunta and Yerpedu Mandals of Chittoor District.
  5. Distributed Belladonna Capsules for eligible patients in rural and tribal areas on the prescription of a qualified doctor
  6. Organized National Environmental Awareness campaigns with the support of the Ministry of Environments and Forests, Govt. of India, New Delhi, since 2000 continuously.
  7. We distributed amount of Rs.30,000 totally and equally among 30 ST. women (Rs. 1000 per head) for self-employment scheme as ..Basket Making Programme”, sponsored by “Vlaams International Centrum” Belgium (Country).
  8. Distributed Rs.25,000 totally and equally among 25 S.C. Women plantain vendors (Rs.1000 per head) sponsored by Vlaams International Centrum, Belgium.
  9. Distributed Rs.30,000/- for B.C. women for making of Sacred Threads sponsored by Vlaams International Centrum, Belgium.
  10. Distributed Rs.55,000 /- Revolving fund to Lebon Self Help Group at Jeevagram  Dalith Christian colony to 10 women with the support of V.I.C. BELGIUM for Candles Making Programme.
  11. Distributed Rs.40,000/- of Microcredit fund to 40 minority women for the undertaking, Stone Breaking-cum-gravel making program” supported by, Vlaams International Centrum” Belgium
  12. Distributed Rs.40,000/- of Microcredit fund to 10 Christian women for the undertaking. Knitting and Embroidery program” supported by, Vlaams International Centrum” Belgium.
  13. We have helped 30 Scheduled Tribe women through a Basket Making program funded by ‘Women’s Network of Methodist Church, London, U.K.
  14. We have successfully implemented the Tailoring and Knitting Training program for Rural Poor women for their Self Employment with the support of ‘Swiss League Catholic Women, Switzerland’
  15. Implemented ‘Sustainable Development of Poor Artisan Group” supported by ’Jadetree Three, U.S.A.”
  16. ASHA conducted the “Wool Knitting Programme for Poor Rural Women” sanctioned by NABARD (National Bank for Agriculture and Rural Development), (Govt. of India), Hyderabad. Under this program, 25 women were benefited.
  17. ASHA conducted a Free Eyecare camp at Renigunta, Chittoor district with our own resources. 250 old aged people have attended this camp. We conducted Eye operations (I.O.L.) on 42 old aged people at free of cost.
  18. Implemented  “Pre-Primary Education Programme for Poor Children” supported by Vlaams International Centrum (VIC), Belgium.
  19. Implemented  “Empowerment of Rural Poor Women and Adolescent Girls” supported by ..Swiss League of Catholic Women” Switzerland.
  20. Implemented ”Evening Study Centres for Dalith children” supported by ..Swiss League of Catholic Women” Switzerland.
  21. Implemented “Community Health Care Programme” in 25 villages supported “Vlaams International Centrum, Belgium.”
  22. Implemented “Construction of Sanitary Latrines Programme to the Daliths” supported by “Vlaams International Centrum, Belgium.”
  23. Implemented “Land Development Programme” for Poor daliths supported by ”Vlaams International Centrum, Belgium.”
  24. Installation of  Drinking Water Borewells” in Dalith colonies supported by  “Vlaams International Centrum, Belgium.”
  25. Distributed seeds to the rural women to raise kitchen gardens in 25 villages supported by “Vlaams International Centrum, Belgium.”
  26. Implemented “Women Empowerment Programme” in 50 villages of Chittoor District supported by “Vlaams International Centrum, Belgium”
  27. Implemented “Awareness Generation Campaigns on Prevention of HIV/AIDS” supported by “Vlaams International Centrum, Belgium”.
  28. Implemented “Best Baby Camp” & “Quiz and Essay Competition & Debates among the College Students on the subject of “HIV/AIDS/STD Prevention” supported by “Swiss League Catholic Women, Switzerland.
  29. Implemented ‘Child Labour Rehabilitation Programme in Mallavaram of Chittoor District’ supported by “The United Nations Voluntary Trust Fund on Contemporary Forms of Slavery, Geneva, Switzerland”.
  30. Implemented ‘Carpentry Training Programme for Rural Poor Youth’ supported by “Royal Netherlands Embassy, New Delhi.
  31. Implemented ‘Empowerment of Rural Poor Women through Handicrafts Making Programme’ supported by “Australian High Commission, New Delhi”.
  32.  ‘Empowerment of Tribal Women through Beads Necklace Twisting Programme’ supported by “The Associated Country Women of the World” London, ENGLAND.
  33. ‘Micro-Enterprise Development Programme on Repairs and Maintenance of Sewing Machines” aided by NABARD, Government of India.
  34. Distribution of Study Materials to Poor Children supported by Ontario Teachers Federation (O.T.F.), Canada.
  35.  ‘Rehabilitation Programme for the Child Labourers and Working Children’ supported by “The United Nations Voluntary Trust Fund on Contemporary Forms of Slavery” Geneva Switzerland. Ref: 263 (09).
  36.  ‘Street Children Welfare Programme” with the grant of  “ASHRAM, USA”.
  37.   ‘Comprehensive Development of Women through Education, Health Awareness and Income Generating Programme’ funded by “Stichting Derde Wereldgroep Soest, The Netherlands.”
  38. “Awareness Generation and Education Programme on Prevention of Alcoholism”  funded by KARUNA vzw., Caritas Cisterciensis Westmalle, Belgium.
  39. ASHA  implemented the ‘Peace and Conflict Resolution’ Programme with a grant received from Alert Fund, The Netherlands.
  40. ASHA  implemented ‘Empowerment of poor women through Various Micro Enterprises Project’ with the support of  “Association Europe – Tiers Monde, Belgium”  Through this project 10 very poor women improved their economical condition for their survival.
  41. ASHA  implemented ‘Awareness Generation Programmes in rural Areas’ with the grant of “Central Social Welfare Board, Government of India. New Delhi.”
  42. Distributed Study Materials to 45 poor children with the donation received from “Shamdasani Foundation, Hongkong”.
  43. ASHA is implemented Community Health Care Project in 5 Tribal Villages” with the grant support of The Associated Country Women of the World (ACWW), United Kingdom.
  44. ASHA  implemented ‘Beads Necklace Twisting program for Poor Tribal People’” with the grant support of  “The Associated Country Women of the World (ACWW), United Kingdom.’
  45. ASHA implemented “Poverty Alleviation among Poor Tribal Women through Bamboo Baskets Making Programme” with the grant of  “Tripsiri Charitable Trust, United Kingdom”
  46. Implemented ‘Women Empowerment Programme for Women Self helps Groups’ with the donation received from “Shamdasani Foundation, Hongkong”.
  47. Conducted  ‘Distribution of Education Materials for Poor Children’ with the donation received from “Shamdasani Foundation, Hongkong”.
  48. Conducted “Yoga for Harmony and Peace – Yoga Day celebration on 19-6-2015” with the support of Nehru Yuva Kendra, Chittoor, A.P. — An Autonomous Body under the Ministry of Youth Affairs and Sports, Government of India.
  49. ‘Micro-Enterprise Development Programme (MEDP) for Matured SHGs Training Programme on Hand Embroidery’ funded by “National Bank for Agriculture and Rural Development (NABARD ) (Government of India).  30 women are benefiting through this program.
  50. ASHA  Implemented  ‘Sheep Rearing Programme for Rural Poor Women’ with the support of “Stichting Castricum Helpt Muttathara, Netherlands”.  30 women were benefited through this project.  These women are now earning a good income and thus alleviate their poverty.
  51. ASHA implemented ‘Coppers Vessels Making a program for poor women’ with the support of “Stichting Castricum Helpt Muttathara, Netherlands”. 45 women are benefited through this project.
  52. ASHA implemented the ‘Drinking Water Borewells Programme’ in 20 villages of Renigunta Mandal of Chittoor District, with the grant received from a Charity in the United Kingdom.
  53. ASHA freely distributed English to Telugu Dictionaries to Secondary 120 School Students of 3  villages of Renigunta Mandal of Chittoor district, Andhra Pradesh, India, with the donation of  “Ontario Teachers Federation, Canada”
  54. ASHA implemented ‘Micro Enterprises Development Programme for the Empowerment of Socio-Economic Backward Women’ with the grant received from “Associated Country  Women of the World (ACWW), United Kingdom”.  Through this project, 30 poor women were benefited and now they become self-sufficient and they are living happily without depending on others.
  55. ASHA implemented ‘Covid-19 Relief-Distribution of Essential Commodities to Poor Tribal people’ of Renigunta Mandal, with the grant of “Global Compassion, United States of America”. Through this project, we have helped 100 poor tribal families with essential commodities viz., Rice, different pulses, cooking oil, vegetables, etc.,
  56. ASHA implemented ‘Neighbourhood Youth Parliament Programme for 150 youth of Renigunta Mandal, with the support of “Nehru Yuva Kendra, Chittoor, Ministry of Sports and Youth Affairs, Government of India
